ASOIAF: GRRM has said that some fans have already guessed the ending to the series. Which fan theory was he referring to?

I doubt if it was the ‘Ramsay is Azor Ahai’ theory.
Really there are only a few major theory strands about the end of the series, and most theories are variations on those strands: differences on the specifics.
  1. The first one people seem to have after reading the first book, is that Dany will take her dragons and save the world from the icy Others. Add R+L=J and you havee a dragon rider, potential mate, potential king of Westeros. Disneyesque. Usually you have poor little Tyrion riding a dragon in this one.
  2. Theories that somehow Ice and Fire are equal and will clash and something or someone will happen to neutralize both of them, simultaneously bringing order and harmony and balance to the world’s out-of-whack seasons. (Also Disney-esque, incidentally.)
Both endings are essentially cliches, so I hope someone has guessed something different. It’s not enough for me for, say, a hero like Jon Snow to give up his life to harmonize the world. Thats not what I like about the series. The stakes have to be higher than his mere life.
They have to hurt.
But GRRM’s not telling us which one is correct, so it’s not really possible to guess. One can make an educated guess on how it’s going to end up based on the type of story you thinkGRRM is telling, and that’s about it.
