Doran Martell will return to life in George RR Martin's much-awaited 6th installment of A Song of Ice and Fire, the Winds of Winter, to be published at some point after the point in which 'it is finished.'
He will play a role as a mover of political events in the Seven Kingdoms for a time, and then he will be killed off again in the books.
