ASOIAF: Is the War of the Five Kings still going on?

es it is.

First let's get things straight:  the WAr of the Five Kings was always a bit of an arbitrary name.

There were never, or hardly ever, five kings at one time warring with each other.

By the time Balon Greyjoy was really asserting himself in the current civil war, Renly may already have been dead; and at any rate, Renly's role in the war was mostly just cutting off supplies to King's Landing.

He didn't do any actual fighting. Just feasted and made sport and gazed upon his handsome face in the mirror.

. He was planning to wipe out his brother STannis and his army but didn't.

So in the future, I imagine the war will be renamed. But it's the same war. 

But here are the factions as they stand currently, at the end of A Dance with Dragons:(If I've forgotten anybody, let me know--I'll add it to the list.

1. King Tommen. Still holds the Iron Throne. His army, the Great WEstern Alliance(Lannister/Tyrell) is fast becoming a spent force after the war in the Riverlands and the Siege of Dragonstone. He built a new navy that literally got stolen from him. He plays with cats and has banned beets(or is planning to), causing their price on the black market to soar, I assume.

1. Redwyne Fleet: Working for Tommen, sailing towards Oldtown to deal with the Ironborne.
2. King Aegon: leading the Golden Company. Making fairly unimpeded progress in the Stormlands. Probably headed for King's Landing. Expecting help from 'friends in the Reach' who are currently part of King Tommen'sfaction.

1. King Euron. Crazy. One eyed. Blue-lipped. STands around in dressing gowns with no underwear on. Leading the rape and plunder brigade through the relatively undefended Reach. Has got some plan to get a dragon. In league with dark powers, perhaps. Enforcer of cannibalism. Possible greenseer gone rogue.

1. Lannister Army around Riverrun. Basically just sitting there being picked off by
2. Lady SToneheart's Brothers without Banners. AS the war winds down in the Riverlands, the Brothers without Banners mission has shifted from defending the smallfolk to basically trying to wipe out the Lannnister/Frey armies one soldier at a time. Led by a bona fide zombie.

1. Nymeria's wolf army. Just eating random passersby at the moment. Sure to do more, though.

1. King Stannis: leading a smaller army of loyal southrons, Northern Mountain Clans and Bear Islanders towards Winterfell. STuck in a snowstorm. About to battle an army of Northerners and Freys. So many double- and triple-crossing factions that I'm not even sure who's on who's sidereally. Currently grinding his teeth and deciding how to kill the Karstarks and Theon.

1. Roose Bolton: holed up in Winterfell; surrounded by vassals who want to kill him or each other; but 'not a man to be undone.' Currently covered in leeches and eating a bowl full of bloody, uncooked meat.A huge wrench(or spanner--depending on which side your own) is about to be thrown into his works. That wrench's name is Rickon Stark.
