Why is it so important to the USA that the UK stay in the EU?

1. A strong EU is essential to US/NATO security. The UK leaving EU makes a weaker EU for security reasons.
2. The UK leaving the EU has the potential to weaken the overall EU/UK economy. Ditto point one.
3. The UK is the most natural ally of the US in a continent full of allies. They are the Bridge and the US can easier exert its influence through the UK.
4. The UK leaving the EU has a huge potential for disastrous consequences: economic problems for all of Europe(and thus the entire world); it could even cause  the collapse of the entire Union. Simply put, nobody knows what is going to happen. See points 1 and 2.

Stability is good for business. The business of America is and always has been business.
