A Song of Ice and Fire: What do we know about Ned Stark's mother? How Did she die? Why does Ned never think about her in his POV chapters?

For a long time, we knew absolutely nothing.
Now we know a little more than absolutely nothing.

This is  story of a theory. A theory that lived, grew to fruition, set off offshoots and then was brutally slain.
It went like this.
WHO IS NED STARK's' MOTHER? WHY DON'T WE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HER? wHAT IS GRRM HIDING?????!!!!!!
  • Ned Stark's mother was a Skagosi
    • hat explained why Rickon has gone to Skagos, having been sent there with Osha by Maester Luwin!
    • The Knight of the Lauging Tree's weirwood sigil was actually the sigil of Ned Stark's mother!
    • Perhaps Wildling society is matriarchal!
    • Lyanna was the matriarchal heir of the weirwood sigil family of Skagos!
    • This means that Val maybe IS actually the princess that Stannis says she is but Jon says she isn't!
    • And Wildling Princesses are also priestesses because Val wears a white dress and carries a sickle blade.
    • Somehow this means that Val has STARK blood.
    • And that she will resurrecct her cousin Jon Snow! In the name of the Old Gods!!!
    • I think somehow this proved that Roose Bolton was using Blood magic to make himself into an immortal Other and there was something about vampires in Harrenhal.
Then The World of Ice and Fire was published.
Ned Stark's mother was Lyarra Stark who was a very distant relative of Rickard STark.
And this beautiful theory withered on the vine.
If it's not in the books it's only a theory.
