Review: All the Light WE Cannot See, by Anthony Doerr

This book was beautiful. Incredible. It's historical fiction; written like a taut thriller; in the most beautiful prose imaginable. Goes after the big issues without blinking. Made me weep. Made me gasp.

Set in WWII, it follows the lives of two children caught up in the times: a blind Parisian, a young German orphan; and a German Sergeant Major, on a desperate quest to save his own life.

Really, can't recommended it enough
