Game of Thrones: If Jon Snow is really dead, what well be the fate of the show, will there be a downfall in the number of viewers?

Brandon Stark fell, they watched.
Ned Stark got beheaded in front of his daughters and they still watched.
Khal Drogo was smothered and burned. Despite that, the viewership grew.
Mormont was stabbed, the viewship went up.
Robb Stark and Talisa Flockheart, or whatever her name was, died horribly. Tears were wept.
Catelyn's throat was slit. Angry voices cried out.
They saw Ygritte killed by an arrow and die in Jon Snow's arms. A million eyes were wet. A million sighs were sighed.
They still watched.
They saw Jojen Reed incinerated casually by an 8 year old. They chuckled a little. They continued to watch.
Barristan the Bold was killed by a bunch of videogame warriors. They liked him. They still watched.
Shireen...cute, little Shireen was burned. They heard her screaming and pleading. They  watched in horror but they watched.
They saw Jon Snow knifed a half dozen times, heard his choked gasp (Ollie??!).

Do you think they will watch?
People watch the show because of the deaths.

People have a need for real tragedy; old-school, harrowing, cathartic.
It's a need that's been ignored by popular culture for too long.

They will watch.

Even if Tyrion bites it.
Thank you for asking.
